Howdy.

Howdy!

I’ve always wanted to blog. I’ve had a couple of fits and starts over several years, but nothing stuck. Even deciding to start this one took a lot of hemming and hawing. Do I need a domain? What, exactly, should I blog about? Everyday life? My current career slump? My foray into beading as a hobby? My dream of becoming a phenomenal home cook who throws bomb ass themed dinner parties and “dining experiences”? Parenting? Self-improvement?!

And because I have a lifetime habit of not sticking to things, should I test out the idea by first committing to “blogging” via MS Word or, hell, even Google Keep? After all, if I were serious, the medium and aesthetics wouldn’t matter, right?

Nay.

As a side note, I’m learning that I actually need the pageantry, theatrics, and trumpets. And that’s ok. For a long time, my MO was to be out of the way, not be a burden, not to ask, but to figure it out, struggle through it in silence, and get the hell on - quietly.

This mental image of me rising up and being free of that mentality has stuck with me for some years now. I came across the term “recovering wallflower” a decade or so ago, and used it in my IG bio, which I never update now and rarely did back when I was more active on the site. So, basically still being a wallflower, at least when it came to posting pics and videos.

“Bri on the Loose” is the same concept. This blog will be a creative outlet (which I am so in need of, I think it qualifies as a clinical symptom of some kind) and me documenting myself…doing things. New things. Things I may not have done a few years ago because of doubting the utility or, probably more likely, my chances at being “successful” at it and not judged for it (a big one), but now feel more sure in doing. And word to me, because that came from forcing myself out my comfort zone so many times to build up this little piece of boldness that I’m riding on and building on to do even more.

So, I am now on the loose.
